Discuss "Cannibalism" in Flims

 Cannibalism is the act of consuming another individual of the same species as food.Cannibalism is a common ecological interaction in the animal kingdom and has been recorded in more than 1,500 species.cannibalism is also called "ANTHROPHAGY",eating human flesh by humans.The term is derived from the Spanish name (Caríbales, or Caníbales) for the Carib, a West Indies tribe well known for its practice of cannibalism.The Island Carib people of the Lesser Antilles, from whom the word "cannibalism" is derived, acquired a long-standing reputation as cannibals after their legends were recorded in the 17th century.Human cannibalism is well documented, both in ancient and in recent times.A widespread custom going back into early human history, cannibalism has been found among peoples on most continents.

Though many early accounts of cannibalism probably were exaggerated or in error, the practice prevailed until modern times in parts of West and Central Africa, Melanesia (especially Fiji), New Guinea, Australia, among the Maoris of New Zealand, in some of the islands of Polynesia, among tribes of Sumatra, and in various tribes of North and South America.

The image of Cannibalism resentation in cinema is relatively new field from 1980s.The Cannibalism has become an ever more present subject on cinema screens. But the ways in which directors present the Cannibalism – the type of stories they tell, the images they use, and genres they employ – have shifted considerably over the decades since the end of the war.

By the phrase 'Cannibalism' depicts the image of killing mass number of people,after killing those, eating their flesh.The Green Inferno(2013) and  White Cannibal Queen(1980), these two movies are based on  Amazon rainforest. We find traveling as an experience of Horror, and also find image of Cannibalism.

THE GREEN INFERNO:-The Green Inferno is a American cannibal horror film directed by Eli Roth, with a screenplay by Roth and Guillermo Amoedo, from a story by Roth. It stars Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Daryl Sabara, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Sky Ferreira, Magda Apanowicz, Nicolás Martinez, Aaron Burns, Ignacia Allamand, Ramón Llao, and Richard Burgi. The film follows a young woman who joins an activist group that go on an overseas trip, where they eventually run into a cannibalistic tribe.

In the movie we see College freshman Justine becomes interested in a student social activism group led by Alejandro and his girlfriend Kara. The group plans a trip to the Amazon rainforest to stop a petrochemical company from forest clearing and displacing native tribes by filming them and streaming footage to raise awareness. Justine suggests she could bring attention to the issue through her father, a United Nations attorney.

The operation is funded by Carlos, a drug dealer who meets the group in Peru. They journey by boat to the construction site. Group of friends went to there for protest but  the group is arrested,They depart by plane, but the plane's engine explodes and it crashes in the jungle, killing several people, including Carlos.

As the survivors search for a GPS phone, Kara hears something nearby. However, when she goes to check, a native tribe emerges and kills her by arrow,which hit her neck before tranquilizing the others, one by another all them were hit by arrows and tribes taking them to their village, and imprisoning them.As a tribal elder and the Headhunter leader kill Jonah by uprooting his eyes.One of the tribes came and cut his body into pieces so each of tribes can eat his flesh., Alejandro reveals the protest was staged to benefit a rival petrochemical company and so he could focus on other activism projects, to the others' dismay. The tribe test Justine, Samantha, and her girlfriend Amy for their virginity.The treated badly the virgin girl,Upon learning Justine is a virgin, they take her away for a genital mutilation ceremony while the other two women are returned. Alejandro tells the group to stay put and wait for the next petrochemical company's clearing crews, but they attempt to escape. Amidst a downpour, they distract a watchman while Samantha escapes and hides in a canoe and Justine is eventually captured and returned.

The tribe feed the prisoners strange meat. Being a vegan, Amy reluctantly eats, only to discover a chunk of skin in her bowl bearing one of Samantha's tattoos. Realizing they were fed Samantha's remains, Amy breaks the bowl and uses a shard to commit suicide by cutting her throat.Seeing an opportunity, Lars stuffs marijuana down Amy's throat, hoping to get the tribe high when they eat her. As his plan succeeds, Justine and Daniel escape, but Alejandro chooses to stay, tranquilizing Lars to keep him company. When Lars regains consciousness, he sees the intoxicated tribe members eat him alive,by make him into pieces.Then we see Daniel begs Justine to kill him, but the child does so after she refuses. Alejandro begs Justine for help, but she abandons him and flees. Encountering the militia in a firefight against the tribe, in which the Headhunter and most of the tribe’s warriors are killed.

WHITE CANNIBAL QUEEN :-

White Cannibal Queen is a 1980 Spanish-Italian cannibal exploitation film directed by Jesús Franco.Which is also known as - Mondo Cannibale, The Cannibals, Die Blonde Göttin, White Cannibal Queen, A Woman for the Cannibals and Barbarian Goddess.It stars a then-17 year old Sabrina Siani and Al Cliver.The movie is based on A father (Al Cliver) attempts to rescue his teenage daughter (Sabrina Siani) from a tribe of man-eating primitives who (unknown to him) have made her their queen.

Jeremy Taylor (played by Al Cliver and his magic beard) decides to take his wife (Pamela Stanford) and daughter, Lana (Anouchka), with him on an expedition into the heart of the deep, dark jungle. When they get there, some very European looking guys in loincloths sporting neon face paint attack. The wife is murdered, the daughter is kidnapped, and Jeremy's arm gets chopped off and eaten. Taylor barely escapes with his life and, after getting some rest and relaxation in New York, he just sort of hangs out with a foxy chick named Ana (Lina Romay) for a few years. Once he's done hanging out with the foxy chick, he remembers that his daughter might still be alive and as such, he's inspired to head back into the jungle to find her.

Taylor rallies up some help courtesy of a random rich couple and heads south, and before you know it, he's discovered that Lana (now played by Sabrina Siani) is not only alive and well, she's become a white cannibal queen. The natives worship her as a goddess and she's no fool - she realizes she's got a good thing going here! Will she head back to the Big Apple with daddy and the foxy chick or will she spend the rest of her days and a cannibal goddess living amongst the flora and fauna of the fierce Amazon jungle.Cannibal people eat humans,in this movie we see their barbaric ways of living killing man.

CONCLUSION:- In these two films we have observed how the primitive tribe people, torture the outsiders people who entered in the Amazonian rain forest,how brutally they  killed humans and ate their flesh and blood.The director of the two films has successfully portrayed the "cannibalism ".
